Today we played "Would You Rather..." This counts as your WTL#5. Then, in groups you came to a consensus and presented to the class for participation points.
We added imagery to our notebooks under literary terms. I read the story A Storm in the Mountains and you, with a partner, identified the uses of imagery in the poem. We then re-wrote WTL#4, adding imagery to each sentence.
We finished the story that we started last time. In groups you identified the four aspects of plot in the story and wrote them down in your notebook under "craft."
We did WTL #4 before starting the story, "Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket" in our textbook. We did not get through the story, we will finish it, and complete our plot analysis next time.
I presented a powerpoint with several literary terms associated (and including) plot. See the powerpoint attached. You took notes in your literary terms section of your notebook. I showed three commercials in which you were to identify (in writing, under your plot notes in your notebook) the four parts of the plot of each commercial. AOW#4 discussion for participation credit (two or more comments)
In your "craft" section of your notebook, you completed your 1-paragraph
research paper in class. 1. Read the article "Selfies: Your 2013 Oxford English dictionary word of the year." 2. Write a 1-paragraph reflection in MLA format. 3. Make sure you have 2 quotes with lead-ins and that the quotes are relevant to your content. Cite the quotes using MLA format. Create a works cited page. Make sure your table of contents is up-to-date for next week's notebook check. Tomorrow is the last day to turn in your one-pager for November. Selfie Article |
